This silicone mould can be used to make 8 different chocolate bars. There are a total of 6 different designs and 2 bars are each a whole bar and one already opened with pieces.
As we attach great importance to true to scale, the 1:12 chocolate bars are very thin (max. 1 mm thick). This means that more patience and dexterity is required when moulding than you are probably used to with other silicone moulds. For more information, see "Instructions" below.
The mould is heat-resistant up to 200° C for a short time. Material such as Fimo® can therefore be baked in the mould (110° C for 30 minutes).
Epoxy resin can also be used as a filling, but this significantly reduces the service life of the mould, as the resin makes it crumbly over time. UV resins are not suitable as the mould should be transparent.
Instructions
Press a ball of Fimo®, Cernit® etc. into the moulds (I use modelling tools for this).
As the bulges are relatively shallow, but long and wide, moulding requires a little patience and dexterity. The easiest way to do this is to take considerably more clay than you actually need, make sure that every corner is filled and then use a tool (e.g. X-Acto Knife, scalpel etc.) to remove the excess Fimo® piece by piece while holding as much as possible in the mould with one finger. Of course, care should be taken not to cut off any of the silicone mould itself.
Now carefully bend the mould to loosen the clay and bake your miniatures in a preheated oven according to the manufacturer's instructions (not above 200° C!). Alternatively, you can leave the bars in the mould and only remove them after baking.
